Edward Amundsen Obituary
October 10, 1937 - June 13, 2025
Boyne City, Michigan - Edward Bernard Amundsen, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025.
He was born on October 10, 1937, in Tacoma, Washington, to Henry and Anna Marie (McFadden) Amundsen. Edward was raised in Roy, Washington, and graduated from Eatonville High School in 1955. He later earned a Bachelor of Education from Central Washington University in 1968.
Edward dedicated his career to education, teaching mathematics in the Bethel School District until his retirement in 1992. He was a devoted husband to Nancy Heller Amundsen, his beloved wife of nearly 67 years.
Edward is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children: Kathy Johnson, James Amundsen, Julie Cunningham, John Amundsen, Cheri Lindholm, and Jerry Amundsen; thirty grandchildren; and thirty-nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Baron; grandsons, Karl Johnson, Patrick Baron, and Jerisen Amundsen; and great-grandson, Sebastian Johnson.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Edward's life at the following services:
Rosary and Viewing.
Date: Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
Location: Fir Lane Memorial Park. 924 176th Street East, Spanaway, WA 98387.
Time: Viewing at 4:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 5:00 p.m.
Memorial Mass and Reception.
Date: Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
Location: Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. 14601 A Street South, Tacoma, WA 98444. Phone: (253) 537-3252.
Time: Memorial Mass at 12:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.

Edddie grew up in Lacamas and went to Lacamas grade school. Eddie, his sister Donna and his brothers and his parents were an integral part of the Lacamas community. I knew Eddie all through grade school and high school. He was one year ahead of me. He was such a likable kid. Thinking about Eddie and his family brings back good memories of who made up the community where we grew up. My condolences to Nancy and their children.
