Edward Herbert Badding passed away on December 6, 2025 at the Delta County Hospital, Delta, CO. He was 86 years old. Edward was born on January 20, 1939 to Frank and Andreina Badding in Denver, Colorado. He was the youngest of eight children. Edward grew up on the Badding Dairy Farm milking cows and working on the farm.
Edward attended Assumption Catholic School thru the 8th grade then attended Westminster High school, graduating in 1957. In 1958, Edward met Marilyn Rehfeld at a dance. Edward and Marilyn were married on June 13, 1959 and were blessed with 5 children. They were married for 65 years.
Edward and Marilyn moved to Cedaredge, Colorado in 1966 and bought the farm where they grew old together. Edward and Marilyn shared their love for the cows, horses, dogs, and cats on the farm. Edward enjoyed working on the farm and taking care of the animals.
Edward loved having his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit. He enjoyed giving the children rides on the tractors and sharing his knowledge of the farm and his animals.
Edward worked in the sugar factory, construction and delivering propane. He was the manager of the propane company for many years. He was active in the Surface Creek Saddle Club, Harvest Festival Association and was a leader of the Cedar Teens Drill Team. He helped organize and work the Little Britches Rodeo for many years.
Edward was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Philips Catholic Church in Cedaredge, CO in which he was a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Edward was a member of the Knights of Columbus since he was 18 years old.
Edward is survived by his children: Bernardine (Tom) Krupka of Hudson WI, Loretta (Craig) Busch of Cedaredge, CO, Michael (Carol) Badding of Cedaredge, CO, and Joan (Jon) Nestor of Silt, CO. Grandchildren: Anthony Krupka, Kimberly Krupka, Christina (Nate) Harriman, Frederick Busch, Marilyn (Bryan) McClaskey, Jennifer (Alex) Garmon, Kristen (Jeff) Sidor and Shawn Badding. Great Grandchildren: Kayley Harer, Karyssa Krupka, Liam, Wyatt, Emily and Natalie Harriman, Tucker and Tate McClaskey and Callie and Lane Sidor. Sister, Margaret Humann
Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, son Anthony, his parents Frank and Andreina Badding, brothers, Joseph Badding, Sylvester Badding, Francis Badding and Norbert Badding, and sisters Marie Guiles and Genevieve Fury.
Memorial services will be held late spring of 2026.
