With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Eddie Barth on February 17, 2025. A man of strength, passion, and unwavering loyalty, Eddie's love for sports, competition, and family defined his life.
Born in New York City and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Eddie was a devoted fan of baseball, football, and especially horse racing. His competitive spirit shone brightly in the boxing ring, where he fought as an accomplished athlete in the Golden Gloves tournament at Madison Square Garden during the mid-1970s. Beyond the ring, he found joy on the softball field, traveling up and down the East Coast for tournaments, forming lifelong friendships, and creating cherished memories.
In 2010, Eddie made Cape Coral, Florida, his home, but his heart remained with his family and his beloved city of New York. He is survived by his devoted father, Robert Barth Sr., and his loving siblings Bobby, Carol (Dean), Richie (Janice), and John, Eddie also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews-Tina, Jenny, Joey, Shannon, Ryan, Taylor, Brandon and Christopher along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and countless cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret.
Eddie's kindness, humor, and fighting spirit will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by those who knew him best. Though he is no longer with us, the impact he made will remain forever.
A service to celebrate Eddie's life will be announced at a later date. May he rest in eternal peace.
