Edward Battard Obituary

Edward "Parin" Charles Battard passed away on September 18, 2025. Born on December 4, 1933, in New Orleans, LA. He was the son of the late Emile and Maude Battard.

Parin is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virginia Battard and his brother, Ray Battard.

He is survived by his sister, Carol (the late Jimmy) Capella, his nieces Donna (the late Dominick) Baglio and Debbie (Randy) Bolnar, and his great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephew.

After graduating from Delgado Community College in 1959, Parin served his country with pride as an Army veteran. He then embarked on a career as a sewing machine repairman.

Parin was a die-hard fan of football, Saints, LSU, and Tulane. He also enjoyed a good Western movie. Parin never missed an opportunity to visit with family, share a hearty meal, and crack a joke that would leave everyone in stitches. He was devoted to his late wife, Virginia, and now is with her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by a Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

We also invite you to share your thoughts, memories, and condolences online at www.greenwoodfh.com.
