Edward Mitchell Botkin

Edward Mitchell Botkin, 79, of Vandalia, MO, passed away at 12:52 AM, Sunday, June 15, 2025, at University Hospital Columbia in Columbia, MO.
The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Kingdom Hall in Hannibal, MO. A carry-in dinner will follow the service at the Admiral Coontz Armory in Hannibal, MO.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.
Edward was born April 24, 1946, in Hannibal, MO to Orville Otis Botkin and Eleanor "June" Mitchell Botkin.
He was married to Margaret J. Ruhl; on May 28,1966, in Hannibal, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include his five children, Tamantha J. Edelman of Peoria, IL, Samantha J. Peschong of Peoria, IL; David E. Botkin (Tanya) of Vandalia, MO, Audrey R. Botkin (Scott) of Paris, MO, and Erica L. Long (Joshua) of Hannibal, MO; one sister, AnnaRose Botkin of Licking, MO; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dale Botkin; and one great grandson.
Edward retired from General Motors after 30 years where he worked as a lineman on an assembly line.
Edward was a hobby farmer. He enjoyed being outdoors gardening, feeding birds and animals, and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Edward was a big supporter of the Missouri Department of Conservation. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Edward was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
