BOWMAN, Edward Lee "Ed"

Edward "Ed" Lee Bowman, age 85, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Ed was born on August 8, 1939, in Akron, Ohio, to the late George and Gladys Bowman. While attending Akron University, he met the love of his life, Charlene "Shawnee" Ball and they were married in 1961. Ed loved creating things with his hands, whether that was baking bread, cooking meals for family and friends, gardening, or building dollhouses, treehouses, or furniture. Traveling was a priority, and he took his family on many exciting trips to national parks and beaches. Soon after moving to Lawrenceville, the Bowman family became founding members of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Shawnee; and his brother, Robert "Bob". He is survived by his brother, Kenneth; his children, Susan (Shawn) Gaunt, Doug (Silvia) Bowman, Ray Bowman, and Connie (Jim) Burke; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass Honoring the Life of Ed will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park.
