Edward Joseph Carullo "Eddie Joe", 40 of Gladstone, MO, passed away June 6, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones after complications from a seizure. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 17, 2023 from 12pm-3pm at Briarcliff Church 800 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO 64118. Food will be served after the celebration service. Inurnment with family scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to family bereavement meal support.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father Michael Carullo, uncle Frankie DeMoro, and his family dog Cheeba. Survivors include his daughters, Kylley, Kameron and Lillian, and son Grayson Carullo; paternal grandparents Frank and Sue DeMoro; maternal grandparents Joseph and Carol Robey; sister Melissa Carullo (Ben Mackey); brother Derek Carullo (Kayla Gwyn); life partner Sara Salazar; nieces and nephews Layla, Titus, Nicole, Andrew, Derek, Dominic, Ethan, Kaydi, and Kayci; Laura Carullo; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Eddie had a real zest for living life to the fullest, especially after his epilepsy diagnosis at age 14. He will be remembered for his handsome smile, big personality, and warm heart towards all. He lived 26 years with severe seizures but did not let epilepsy define him. Eddie held a 2nd degree blackbelt in Karate Jiu Jitsu. His hard work of more than 20 years and advanced rank blackbelt would allow him to become an assistant instructor of Jiu Jitsu in his adult years. After graduating high school, Eddie worked as a stagehand with his dad for several years. He would go on to later enjoy work as an arborist and landscapist. Eddie fiercely loved his family. He was the family protector. From sword fights to karaoke nights, he loved being a dad and made the most fun of time spent with his children. He was Uncle Eddie to his nieces and nephews who will always have funny stories full of shenanigans and songs to tell of him. He told entertaining stories, was always competitive, and loved the Kansas City Chiefs. Eddie enjoyed rocking out to his music and was a movie buff with a specialty in action and Marvel movies. He enjoyed nature and woodworking. Eddie was a loyal, loving brother and friend throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly.
