Mr. Edward Thomas Casey, 85, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025. Mr. Casey was born February 26, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois to the late William Casey and Marcella McEneany Casey.
Mr. Casey worked and retired after many years of service from the automotive industry. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Bryson City. He along with his wife loved to travel and camp with their motorcoach. He loved square dance and was a member of the Wigglers in Illinois. He had a great love for sports such as basketball and football. He was an avid Cardinal's Fan. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, stepfather, and step-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Casey; five children, Donald Casey (Joanne), Laurie Pratt (Craig), Dennis Casey (Delinda), Wendy Casey, and Marcy Bishop; three step-children, Paul Gehrett, Jim Gehrett (Anne King), and Dave Gehrett (Carol): many grandchildren and great grand-children; two sisters, Fran Rostenkowski and Marge Zatorski.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by a brother, William Casey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2005, at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church 316 Main St. Bryson City, NC 28713 with Father Victor Ameh officiating. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Niles IL.
