Edward Ray Combs

Mr. Edward Ray Combs, age 83, of Glen St. Mary, Florida was born at his family home on August 10, 1940 and passed away on Wednesday, January 24th at his home following a brief illness.
Mr. Combs was born in Sanderson, Florida and was a lifelong resident of Baker County. He retired from Northeast Florida Telephone Company as a security guard. He did various jobs over his lifetime including being a Meat Cutter, Aid at Northeast Florida
State Hospital and also a Lineman at Northeast Florida Telephone Company. He loved spending time with his family and attending church at the Hilliard Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber and Myrtle Lea Combs, his siblings, Elwin Combs, Helen Brantley, Bobby Combs, Tommy Combs, Talmage Combs, Phillip Combs, Eugene Combs and Ferrell Robinson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Linda Sue (Conner) Combs, daughters, Vicki R. Combs, Karen D. Higginbotham and son, Edward R. Combs Jr (Danyle); 1 sister, Vera Dean Stewart (Billy); 8 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 11am, Saturday January 27th at the Macclenny Church of God
with Pastors Larry Powell and Pastor Shannon Conner officiating the service. Visitation and gathering will be from 10 to 11am (one hour prior to service). Internment will be at the Taylor Cemetary. Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 East Maccleny Ave Florida has been entrusted with the service arrangements.
