Ed Dempsey, age 55 of Pierceton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born Edward Dean Dempsey, Ed was the son of the late Arnold Dempsey and Judith (Fuller) Kline who survives. He was a lifetime Warsaw area resident and a graduate of Warsaw Community High School. Professionally, Ed was a mechanic which is fitting since he was a passionate Sprint Car Racing enthusiast and past team member; also a former truck driver.
In addition to racing, Ed is remembered as a proud papaw and for his honest, sarcastic sense of humor. He recently bravely beat cancer and recently found enjoyment in motorcycles.
Ed was married to Audrey Anders on June 10, 1995; they were preparing to celebrate their twenty-eighth anniversary before his passing. In addition to his wife, Audrey Dempsey, survivors include two daughters: Beth (Nick) Parker and Rachel Dempsey; three grandchildren: Easton, Cole, and Hadley; brother, Jack Dempsey and mother, Judith Kline. He was preceded in passing by his father.
Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw is entrusted with care of Ed and his family. Visitors may gather there with the family on Monday, June 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. His life will be further celebrated at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Matthew Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
