Edward W. Dickel, 90, of Palm Coast, FL died peacefully under hospice care on May 7, 2024. He was born on October 5, 1933 in Oradell, NJ to Edward C. and Emily R. (nee Lavender) Dickel. He grew up in Hasbrook Heights.
After high school, he married his long-time sweetheart Barbara Pecorella, who predeceased him after 57 years of marriage in 2010. Soon after, he became an insurance adjuster for property and casualty carriers. He and Barbara lived in West Milford for 42 years, where they raised their 4 children. When not busy with kids activities, Ed enjoyed the social aspect of bartending private events. Upon retiring in 2001, Ed and Barbara moved to Palm Coast, FL where they enjoyed the beach lifestyle for this next chapter of their lives.
Ed was predeceased by his parents and his wife Barbara. He is survived his 4 children: His daughters Debra (Alberto) Rivera, Donna (Dave) Fricke, and Diane (Ken) Deaver; and his son Edward W. Dickel, Jr. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dogs were always held in special regards in the family, and he will be deeply missed by many two and four legged friends.
A yet to be planned Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in New Jersey. Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service of Bunnell, FL is assisting with arrangements. www.HeritageFlagler.com
