Edward Dotski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chagnon Funeral Home Inc. on Feb. 18, 2026.
Edward Paul Dotski, age 91, of Cheboygan, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Edward was born on November 9, 1934, at home on the family farm on Dotski Road in Cheboygan, Michigan, to Michael and Mary Dotski. He grew up in Cheboygan and graduated from Pellston High School.

On July 1, 1957, he married the love of his life, Marilyn McGarery, at St. Francis Catholic in Petoskey. In 1960, Edward purchased his home in Cheboygan, where he remained for the rest of his life, creating decades of cherished memories. Edward dedicated many years of hard work to H&H Tube forming, where he was a valued employee until his retirement.

Edward was well known throughout the community for his warmth, kindness, and gift for conversation. He loved stopping for coffee and McDonald's, Burger King or Arby's, where he enjoyed a burger, a cup of coffee, and good conversation. Every weekend, he looked forward visiting Riggsville to catch up on all the local "scuttle" while savoring coffee and a donut.

He was an amazing and devoted grandfather who found great joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When his grandchildren came to visit, he always made sure to have Little Debbies, pop and chips ready for them. When his great-granddaughter Blake visited, he made certain she had the biggest cookie waiting. He loved listening to their stories, hearing about their lives, and knowing what they were up to. His steady presence, welcoming home, and genuine interest in others will be deeply missed.

Edward is survived by his three sons: Terry (Gail) Dotski of Cheboygan; Edward Jr. (Sue) Dotski of Poynette, Wisconsin; and Steven (Siteria) Dotski of California; as well as his 12 grandchildren - Samantha, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Justin, Tristan, Tyler, Jacob, Travis, Lesa, Paul, Marilyn and Vaisa and 20 great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents Micheal and Mary; beloved wife, Marilyn; his daughters, Cynthia and Lisa; and his ten siblings, Michael, Philip, Felix, John, George, Catherine, Virginia, Mary, Stella, and Josephine.

Per Edward's wishes, he will be cremated and no service will be held.

Edward's life was a testament to simple joys – family, friendship, conversation, and kindness. His stories, laughter, and loving heart will live on in all who knew him.
