EDWARD P. ECKENROD JR.
Edward P. Eckenrod, Jr., 86, of Hallstead, PA completed his work on earth on December 5, 2024 and entered into eternal rest. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 63 years Carol; two children, Clifford "Troy" Eckenrod and Cheryl (Michael) Rolston; two grandchildren, Devlin and Zzakary; his brother, Russell Eckenrod; his sisters, Roseann Burkett and Dorothy Pohlman; several nieces and nephews; and his long time friend, Kenny Wescott. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward P. and Carmella Eckenrod Sr; sisters, Barbara Jean Moss and Janet Law.
Ed was drafted into the military in 1961 shortly before the birth of his son. He served with the US Army until 1963 when he was transferred to the Reserves. He worked for PPG Industries, Inc. for 35 years as the Branch Manager, alongside his son for the last 18 years. Ed was a 40 year member of the American Legion Post #357, serving as a member of the Board and offering military honors for other deceased Veterans. He never actually retired and worked for the Conklin Players Club, among many other projects. He made many friends as an avid boater and snowmobiler. Ed was known to be a very hard worker and played harder. He made friends easily and maintained those friendships. Ed cherished his title of "Pap Pap" with the birth of his first grandchild on his birthday, the best present ever. He is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Ed is deeply missed and leaves a void that will never be filled.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. Hallstead, PA. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #357, PO Box 429, Hallstead, PA 18822.
