Edward Elinich

Elinich- Edward "Eddie" Elinich, age 78, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at Community Hospice Center for Caring at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside. He was born on October 23, 1947, in Lower Bucks County, Pennsylvania to the late John George Elinich and Sarah Mary Finan Elinich. Eddie was one of eleven children. From an early age, he demonstrated a remarkable aptitude for working with his hands. It was a talent that was a defining trait that was carried throughout his life. Eddie dedicated two decades of honorable service to the United States Navy. His commitment and discipline during those 20 years reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism. Eddie's time in the Navy shaped much of his character and left a lasting impression on those who served alongside him. Beyond his military career, Eddie found great joy and fulfillment in woodworking. Whether crafting furniture or creating intricate pieces from raw materials, he brought precision and artistry to everything he built. Eddie's skill with tools and wood was not only a personal passion but also a testament to his patience and creativity. In his final days, Eddie experienced a profound spiritual transformation. On October 19, 2025, Eddie made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. Surrounded by care and compassion, he was baptized by Pastor Buddy Wimberly on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in his hospice bed. This sacred act marked a powerful testament to his faith and the hope he embraced as he prepared for eternal rest. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting tribute to a life marked by service, craftsmanship, and quiet strength. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings.

Eddie leaves behind his loving sisters, Barbara (Paul), Susan, Mary; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Eddie's Life will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Lannie Road Baptist Church with Pastor Buddy Wimberly officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
