Webster- Edward Don Frazier was born July 5, 1958, in Sigourney, Iowa the son of Leo Donald and Virginia Lea (Teausant) Frazier. He graduated from English Valleys High School in 1976. Ed farmed and worked construction. He worked for Blake Hershberger Construction for many years. On September 8, 2007, Ed was united in marriage to Jo Ann Bates, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. He enjoyed gardening, mowing his yard, deer hunting, mushroom hunting, playing with his dogs and spending time with family. Ed died on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, at the age of 67 years.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann of Webster; children Ashley Carapella of West Des Moines, Matthew Pence of Sigourney, Tim Tourres of Ladora and Mary Tourres of Thibodeaux. Louisiana; grandchildren Layla, Lincoln, Landen, Aison, Dominic, Gabrielle, Jo, Nathan, and Noah; siblings Chris (Brenda) Frazier of DeWitt, Cindy (Steve) Duwa of Wellman, Linda (Alan) Adams of Oskaloosa, Brenda McArtor of Sigourney, Anita (Chris) Whetstine of Wellman, Lori (Larry) Pence of Sigourney and Dan (Sheila) Frazier Lawrenceville, Georgia; special aunts Neva, Maxine, Rosemary and Bev; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. He is preceded by his father; mother-in-law Josephine Dezarn; and a brother-in-law Larry McArtor.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. There will be a Celebration Of Life at the North Keokuk County Fire Station in South English, following the visitation. Memorials may be given to the German Shepherd Dog Rescue of Iowa or the North Keokuk County Fire Department. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
