Edward “Sonny” Charles Glinski, 73, of Richboro, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on December 15, 2022. Sonny was born in Philadelphia, the son of Edward and Margie Glinski. He is survived by his beloved wife Debra Glinski (nee Hebel) of 45 years; sons Seth Glinski (Andrea) and Evan Glinski (Justine); grandchildren Samantha, Brielle, Logan, and Jordyn; brother Raymond Glinski (Annmarie); sisters Susan Sullivan and the late Joyce Jameson (Frank); and his many loving nieces and nephews.
After successfully surviving a prostate cancer diagnosis in 2012, he courageously fought Parkinson’s Disease with Lewy-Body Dementia for the past 7 years.
Sonny graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia and served as a Military Police Officer both domestically and overseas for the United States Air Force from 1967 - 1971. While earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Temple University, he met his wife Debra and began a family in Philadelphia prior to relocating to Richboro in 1990.
A lifelong sports fan, Sonny adored all local Philadelphia teams as well as coaching and watching his sons in youth sports. Sonny volunteered for multiple organizations, including the Council Rock HS marching band, and was a Gold VIP blood donor for the American Red Cross. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his family at Penn State for football games and parents’ visiting weekends.
Sonny spent 45 years as a Certified Public Accountant focused on tax services for both businesses and individuals. This led to long hours over the years, especially during “tax season” when he managed both full-time employment as well as personal tax preparation for friends and family.
Sonny’s other hobbies and interests included reading, writing, trivia, fishing, Parkinson’s boxing, watching Seinfeld, and enjoying a good dessert. He loved all animals and nature, from birdwatching to National Geographic books and documentaries. He especially loved Dusty and Klondike, the two family dogs that were indeed man’s best friends for most of his adult life. In his later years, Sonny treasured time with his four young grandchildren who could always make him smile.
Family and friends are invited to arrive on Thursday December 22, 2022 at 10:45 AM to his Graveside Service which will start promptly at 11AM, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery located at 830 Highland Avenue Newtown, PA 18940 followed by a Memorial Service at Shir Ami Synagogue located at 101 Richboro Newtown Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
