Edward Herting Obituary
December 20, 1934 - September 17, 2025
Edward "Ed" J. Herting, 90, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Dubuque, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ed is survived by his five children, Karen (Kent) Johnson, Paula (Shawn) Kelly, David Herting, Michael (Lisa) Herting, and Greg Herting; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Lynn (Larry) Trebon, and Jeanne (Jack) Kiefer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, JoAnn Herting; seven siblings, Lawrence Herting, Delores Lulaff, Ray Herting, Jeanette Schmidt, Bernice Swinton, Marian Hess, and Lois Eckland; two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Patrick Stedman; in-laws, Harold and Jeanette Kutsch; and nephews, Scott Trebon and Mark Kiefer.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1870 St. Ambrose St. in Dubuque, with Mass immediately following at 11 a.m. and will be live-streamed on the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home website and church website (www.stanthony-dubuque.org/). Following Mass, the interment will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice (cvhospice.org).
