Edward F. Hunt, 88 of Littleton, peacefully returned to God on November 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born in Ayer, MA on May 10, 1935. He was the son of the late Irving W. Hunt and Margaret A. (Knox) Hunt of Littleton.

Ed graduated from Littleton High School in 1953 as a salutatorian.  A teacher at school recognized a talent in Ed and encouraged him to pursue a career as a draftsman. He worked for Raytheon, Bowl-mor, and Digital before beginning a lengthy 44-year career at Shanklin Corporation, retiring as Executive Vice President.

Ed was very active at St. Anne’s Church starting at the age of 7 as an altar boy and continuing until age 19, then to Holy Name, Finance Committee for many years, then becoming one of the first Eucharistic Ministers for ten years. Ed was a tremendous athlete excelling at basketball and baseball during high school and kept active by playing tennis and softball during his adulthood. His sports career culminated with an induction into the Littleton High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. Ed loved the New England sports teams and proudly displayed their logos on hand-painted wooden plaques in his front yard.

He loved creating and displaying stunning Christmas villages each year in his home. Ed also enjoyed painting seasonal landscapes, working in his yard, and the most important thing he loved was spending time with his family.

Ed is survived by the love of his life Helen, also known as Topsy (Chulada) Hunt, with whom he spent 66 wonderful years of marriage, his four children Michael and his wife Chris of Wells, Maine, Jim and his wife Mary Ellen of Littleton, Maureen and her husband Kevin Allen of Pepperell, and Kathy and her fiancé Bob Jumper of Ayer. He is also survived by his 12 devoted grandchildren Danielle, Ryan, Ari, Shaun, Evan, Jonathan, Kevin, Eddie, Brittany, Courtney, Jordan, Jasmine, and 12 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way. He is also survived by his two brothers Jim and his wife Judy of Littleton, Tom and his wife Mary Anne of Lowell and his sister-in-law Phyllis of Littleton. He is predeceased by his sister Peggy Woodin and his brother John (Jack) Hunt.

Sincere appreciation to Brenda of Visiting Angels. Her exceptional care for this past year for Ed gave him so much comfort and dignity. She was a bright light during a very difficult time. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Life Care Center in Littleton for comforting him during his final days. We are forever grateful to you all.
