Edward R. Jackman

Edward R. Jackman, 87, formerly of Washington, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Indiana. He was born May 4, 1938 in Claysville, the son of the late Raymond Jackman and Helen Jackman Grove. Ed was a 1958 graduate of Washington High School and was employed by Jessop Steel for 40 years. On September 5, 1958 he married Harriet Yoders, who preceded him in death August 1, 2021. He has one brother, Ronald Jackman, who survives. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. Surviving are son, Edward (Susan) Jackman, Jr. of Deltona, Fla.; daughter, Jodi (John) Olashuk of Granger, Ind.; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jaime) Jackman, Casey Jackman, Justin (Kristen) Olashuk, Jared (Hope) Olashuk: and nine great- grandchildren. Ed was a kindhearted person and did not know a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial contributions may be made to Ascent Hospice, 1930 Edison Road, South Bend, IN 46617. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 3, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Interment will be private.
