Edward Lee Jackson, age 80, born June 7, 1945, in Jay, Oklahoma, passed away on February 23, 2026, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Edward dedicated many years of his life to the Street Department for the City of Grove. Known as a very hard worker, he took great pride in providing for his family and giving his best in everything he did. His strong work ethic and reliability earned him the respect of coworkers and friends alike.
A devoted family man, Edward cherished the time spent with his children: Sandra Jackson-DeRose, Vernon Jackson, Samantha Jackson, Alan Smith, Goldie Addington, and Michele Williams. He took immense pride in his role as a father and, together with his wife, Cindy, lovingly fostered numerous children over the years—opening their home and hearts to those in need.
He was a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren: Toni, Richi, Jessica, Erica, Kenny, Vanessa, Sarah, Joseph, James, Bobby, Jennifer, Skyler, Andrew, Brittney, and Ashley. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren—Jerzi, Reymani, Nathaly, Elianna, Jayla, Enzo, Brooklyn, Brylee, Tiffanie, Savauna, and Carli—and his great-great-grandchild, Oakley. Edward is survived by his sisters, Nadine and husband Riley, Linda, and Maxine; and his brothers, John, Wiley, Doyle, and B.J. He is also fondly remembered by numerous additional grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members who were touched by his love and kindness.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Orvel and Minnie “Marie” Jackson; his beloved wife, Cindy Jackson; his daughter, Darlos Jackson-Davidson; and four brothers; JD, Wayne, Elmer and Bill.
As we remember Edward, we hold dear the joyful memories of his love for family, his warm-hearted nature, his tireless work ethic, and his enjoyment of watching westerns. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A brief visitation will be held in Ed’s honor on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 with a Celebration of Life service starting at Noon, Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 711 S. Main St., Grove, Oklahoma.
