Edward Joseph Ladamus, age 80 of Dallas, passed away Thursday October 16, 2025 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre on December 24, 1944 and was the son of the late George and Anna Hardish Ladamus.
Ed graduated from Lake-Lehman, class of 1962 and then earned a bachelor's degree from Bloomsburg State College, class of 1966; he eventually earn a master's degree in education as well. He worked as a 5th grade teacher and reading specialist at Lehman Jackson Elementary School and acted as the a wrestling coach for Lake-Lehman Junior and Senior High, as well as LCCC. Following his retirement, Ed became involved with refereeing various wrestling events and was even invited to referee at the Olympics. Later in life he became a groundskeeper at Huntsville Golf Club and Emanon Country Club. He was a member of Gate of Heaven Parish. Ed was an avid golfer, had great love of animals, and volunteered at many animal rescues including Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge. Ed had great love for his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, George Ladamus; sister, Mary Ann Lozier; several aunts and uncles; numerous dogs.
Ed is survived by sister, Dolores "June" Newell; niece, Debbie Katyl (Dave); nephews, Earl Lozier (Lisa), Russ Newell (Sherri), Michael Lozier, George Ladamus (Angela) and Tom Ladamus; brother-in-law, Earl Lozier; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ladamus; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 10:30 AM from Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave, Dallas, PA 18612, with Rev. Andrew S. Hvozdovic, officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM prior to the mass at the church.
Interment will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Lehman Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Rd., Dallas, PA 18612 or Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas, PA 18612.
