Edward Arnold Lamb

Edward Arnold Lamb, "Ed" age 82, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, SC after a long illness. He was a son of the late Newton W. and Pauline Logan Lamb on March 4, 1942 in Augusta, GA.

Ed's academic journey began at Savannah High School, where he graduated in 1960. He went on to pursue a bachelor's degree at the University of South Carolina and graduated in 1965. During his time at USC, he was actively involved and showcased his leadership skills as a member the Sigma Nu Fraternity, Blue Key Honor Society, and as a Varsity Cheerleader. In 1968, he earned his law degree from USC School of Law.

Throughout his career, Ed made significant contributions as the Head of the Spartanburg County Bar Association, City Attorney of Woodruff, SC, a member of the Downtown Sertoma Club, and as a dedicated board member of YMCA. His commitment to serving others extended beyond his professional life as he was also a devoted member of St. Paul Methodist Church.

Described by many as devoted, loving, giving, and generous, Ed touched the lives of numerous individuals through his kindness and compassion. He will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the positive impact he had on those around him.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Stokes Lamb,  his two daughters: Sherry Boswell (Clay) and Leslie Lamb (fiancé Richard Harmon); and three grandchildren: Joshua Henderson Jr., Taylor Boswell, and Jared Boswell. 

A visitation service to honor Ed's life will take place on June 13, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel located at 2075 E Main St., Spartanburg SC 29307. A private memorial service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1320 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307 or to the YMCA, https://www.spartanburgymca.org/donate/

Edward Arnold Lamb's legacy of service and kindness will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that his memory will continue to inspire many in the years to come.
