Edward Lassiter, 89, of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 2026. He was born in Scottsdale, AZ to Herschel Dean Lassiter and Millie Silvada Pearson.

Ed graduated from West High School and Phoenix College in Arizona. He joined the Air Force Reserve / known back then as Air National Guard. Ed served 8 years from 1954 – 1962, when he was honorably discharged.

Ed then went into photography. Ed was a photographer for years specializing in weddings. Ed went on to own his own business Magna Professional Photographic Laboratory.

Ed was famous for his weddings and large volume of weddings when owning his photo lab.

Ed was a man of many talents. He could build additions to a house, electrical, plumbing and mechanic.

Ed is preceded in death by his Brothers Charlie Lassiter and Richard Lassiter, Sisters Julia Bates and Virginia Yates.

Ed is survived by his wife Marsha Lassiter, Sons Dustin Lassiter and Mike Pope, Daughter-in-Law Kim Pope, Granddaughter Julia Letcher, Brother David Lassiter and Sister-in-Law Ginger Lassiter.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday February 21, 2026 at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ.

A reception will follow the service 2:00 – 4:00PM at the same place.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley. Go to Hospice of the Valley website, select Menu and Donate. There is a form to fill out that will honor Ed.

I didn't know Uncle Ed that well although I wish I was able to when I was younger. I loved going to that house and seeing all my family members, playing games with them even though it was for a day or two a year at most. I look back fondly at those memories when I need them. I love you Uncle Ed, I know you're in a better place now.
