Edward Leonard Obituary

Edward C. Leonard, 88, of Latrobe, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at his home. Born Sept. 24, 1937, in Greensburg, he was the son of the late William and Alice (Ruffner) Leonard. Edward was a member of Luxor United Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement, he was the co-owner of Leonard Construction. Having grown up on a farm, he carried a love of farming throughout his life. He also enjoyed camping. Family was very important to Edward, and he spent many years as a loving caregiver to his wife. His most cherished time was spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. (Newhouse) Leonard; three brothers, Clark, Dale, and Alfred Leonard; four sisters, Hazel Stewart, Alberta Dell, Louella Trout, and Sally Ruoff; and an infant sister, Donna Leonard. Edward is survived by two sons, Scott A. Leonard and his wife, Kelly, of Mt. Pleasant and David L. Leonard and his wife, Debbie, of Latrobe; three grandchildren, Preston Leonard and his wife, Angela, Chelsea Kantner and her husband, Zack, and Dylan Leonard; three great-grandchildren, Carissa Cholock, Stormi Kantner, and Axl Leonard; three brothers, George Leonard, Gary Leonard (Jeannie), and Robert Leonard (Margaret); and four sisters, Frieda Kunkle (Richard), Judy Watt (Jim), Gail Frye (William), and Barbara Scifo. There will be no public viewing or services. Interment is private. Arrangements are being handled by the LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe.
