Mr. Edward Latham Lipscomb, Sr., age 83, of Badin Lake, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Rowan Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, he was the son of the late Howard Stafford Lipscomb and the late Thelma Forbes Lipscomb. Edward retired from GKN after 26 years of service and was formerly in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was a board member of Altamahaw-Ossipee Fire Department and enjoyed boating and spending time on the lake. Edward’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Mr. Lipscomb is survived by his two sons; Edward L. Lipscomb, Jr. (Katie) and David Lipscomb; three grandchildren, Trevor Lipscomb (Kaylie), David “DJ” Lipscomb, Jr. and Abbey Lipscomb; and his longtime loving companion, Janice Loy. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Patricia Lipscomb; his parents; a sister, Jean Butcher; and two brothers, Howard S. “Buddy” Lipscomb, Jr. and Ronald Lipscomb.
The family will be having a memorial gathering from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Altamahaw-Ossipee Fire Department, 2806 Old NC 87, Elon, NC 27244.
