Edward Zenon Lochmayer

Edward Zenon Lochmayer, 78, of Wauconda, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, just days before his 79th birthday.

Born on September 1, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Ed lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family and community. An architect by trade, he spent much of his career shaping both structures and relationships with his thoughtful designs and leadership. Later, he brought his expertise and professionalism to FedEx, where he worked as a project manager for 19 years.

Ed had a gift for bringing people together and making an impact wherever he went. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he treasured time spent with his wife Linda (Gavala) Lochmayer, his children Edward Lochmayer II (Beth) and Melissa Olsen (Brian), and his beloved grandchildren Calvin and Aeris, along with step-granddaughter Victoria.

When not with family, Ed could often be found on the golf course, fishing, or giving back to his community. He was a proud and active member of the Wauconda Moose Lodge, serving as administrator with unwavering dedication until the very day he passed.

Ed will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, his passion for life, and the many lives he touched along the way.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 12:00 Noon to time of sharing at 3:30 pm at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL 60084.
