I met Ed when he was with Haynsworth Photography and I won a Family Portrait at the Dallas Arboretum. For 20 years Ed took photographs of my family at our Annual Tejml Family Reunion at my home in Copper Canyon, Texas (north of Dallas in Denton County.) We live on 10 heavily wooded beautiful acres.

At our Reunion we sleep and feed 24 family members in our home 4 days and nights, ages 3 years to late 80's. And family members bring their favorite dog, so we have had 2-3 chocolate labs, one adorable 10 lb rescue mutt, and a 5 lb geriatric poodle. Can you imagine Ed getting all 24 family members outside, with the 40' trees as a backdrop, to smile naturally at the same time PLUS get all pet dogs to also look at the camera?!? Ed did some theatrical clown maneuvers and sounds to achieve that incredible result! I have 14" by 20" Family Reunion Portraits all over my home from those 20 years.

And, Ed always kindly gave me total rights to the digital negatives, so individual family groups could share their family portraits on their Christmas cards.

My call to Ed in January to set the date for his Photography for our Memorial Day Family Reunion was my first notice of his November 7th death by his sister. I was stunned!!! And, I am so sorry for his death and the grief of his many friends and family members!

My favorite Lozano photo is the backdrop for my iPhone. It is my husband and I sitting surrounded in our back yard with our 7 grandchildren, ages 5 to 30. And we all have eyes open and natural smiles - thanks to Ed's talent!

I have known Edward since early 1990s when Haynesworth photography opened in Palm Beach. For a while I worked in the office which was across the street from my home. Edward and I became friends immediately. I even accompanied him on family shoots many times. Edward was a very talented photographer. And he was wonderful especially working with younger children . In 2001 I moved out to Santa Fe and we connected . In 2014 he came to visit me . It had been many years since we last saw each other. From that time until the present we were always in touch by phone. I received a call to pray for him as he had been diagnosed. He always requested that I pray for him — which I always did. What is so senseless is that he was upbeat and talking like any other day. Less than one month later he rapidly declined. I prayed every day until I received the news. I am very saddened and shocked. Especially that I won’t be getting my calls and hear his voice. Edward adored his sons. Was proud of his sons. Helped many people who struggled with addictions. Took his work seriously. I could go on and on. I will forever miss my friend. I will now think of him as a bright star in the firmament. Edward leaves an indelible mark in my heart. I am certain in the heart of all who knew him and loved him. Rest peacefully my beloved and dear friend. Maria Fleetwood PB, Fla
