Edward S. Magee, Jr., age 86, of
Gainesville, GA passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025. Edward was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jacqueline B. (Morris) Magee and her parents Rebecca and John Boyd Morris, his parents, Eva (Grater) and Edward S. Magee, Sr., his sister and brother-in-law Eve and Robert Robinson, and his brother-in-law Arnold K. Weber, Jr. He is survived by his two children and spouses, Jonathan S. and Missy Magee of Bethlehem, GA and Pamela B. and Mark Mullin of Lawrenceville, GA, and their children, Amber Smith, Chelsea (Smith) D'Alessandro, Jana (Magee) Thomas and Davis Magee, and Matthew and Mitchell Mullin. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Janet (Morris) Weber, along with his 7 nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Weber (Holly), Todd Weber (Nadine), and Susan Weber Burress (Rick); Brad (Rhonda), Rick (Tracey), Mark (Kim) and Michael (Cheryl) Robinson and their extended families.
Ed was a native of Haddonfield and Pine Valley NJ, where he was the General Manager of Pine Valley Golf Club. Following their years in South Jersey, he and Jackie and their two children moved to
Austin, TX, Palm Beach Gardens and
Pensacola, FL, and settled in the Atlanta area in 1987. They loved their home in
Cumming, GA and Ed and Jackie were active members of Cumming First United Methodist Church. Ed worked in the golf management industry at these many locations and concluded his career in the Forsyth County School System, where he enjoyed working with young people.
Ed's main passion was sports and golf; as a hobby, career and many happy trips and rounds of golf with his friends and family. He and his family also loved to travel, watch sports together (Go Tigers and Gators!), entertain and spend time with their many beloved dogs, family and friends. His life is a testament to community, faith and laughter. We rejoice that Ed is at peace with his loving family and many dogs and granddogs that have gone before him, and are thankful for his guiding presence and for his inspiring, loving, Scotch-Irish sense of humor that he shared with countless people throughout his 86 years.
Private funeral services will be held with immediate family in his birth state of NJ and with his in-laws in AZ.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to The
American Heart Association, www.heart.org or to any worthy animal rescue or adoption association, like www.Sohfga.com. Ed and Jackie themselves loved rescuing dogs from local organizations, like SoHFGA, as many of their own family pets, and even their granddog Snicky, were rescued and loved dearly. Messages to the family are welcomed and encouraged, and we thank you for your love of the Magees!
Matthew 5:4" Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
