Edward S. Mapstone Sr passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at age of 70.Born the son of the late lineWilliam Mapstone, Sr. and the late Lois (Weyant) lineMapstone. Beloved father of Edward S. (Lindsay) lineMapstone, Jr. of Irwin and Adam (Lindsey) Mapstone of Avonmore. Grandfather of Zoey Mapstone, Trevor Mapstone, Lillyanna lineWilson and Sydney Mapstone. Dear brother of Dorian Mapstone and Mark Mapstone. Preceded in death by his brothers, lineWilliam Mapstone, Jr. and James Mapstone.Also survived by nieces, nephews and countless close friends.Ed will be remembered by many for his fascination with transportation, lineparticularly with buses. This led him to a notable career lasting over 25 years with Westmoreland lineCounty Transit Authority, where he began as a bus driver and elevated through levels of management, lineeventually earning the title of Safety Supervisor. lineEd had a keen interest in photography and was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace and peace in the birds and buses he was able to capture through his camera lens. Ed also loved taking hikes outdoors and listening to classic rock music. He was a faithful believer in Christ and when his lifestyle needed be changed, he turned to the word of the Lord to guide him - and Ed listened. He felt this changed his life for the better, and he was pleased to become closely affiliated with the Covenant Care Ministries in lineGreensburg, with many of the members becoming Eds closest friends.
