Ed Meyer was the spirit of Clow Airport. He helped all aviators and will be greatly missed. Ed will be taking care of all of the flying Angels in Heaven.

I just saw that Ed has passed. I had known Ed for 30 years at clow, from when i just started flying to working line service and beyond. I remember Ed brought an electric drag car to the airport and had someone run it down the runway. Later on, we shared a hangar with Ed for a short time, and he was always the highlight of the day. Ed will be missed, but never forgoten.

Within the first 20 seconds of meeting Ed two thoughts run through your mind. In the first 10 seconds with his slow country twang, you think "he's country boy". In the next 10 seconds you'll find out he might just be the smartest man you've ever met. I spent quite sometime with Ed we first met in his physics class, we hit it off like a couple of gangbusters. In our convos we consistently came back to one topic and that was hotrods. I remember me and Ed would talk about cars like we were both star struck 10 year olds, he never lost the child like curiosity about everything and anything that was fast, loud, and went bang. As a mechanic he was amazing, as a teacher he was caring, as a human being he was phenomenal.

"You're smarter than you look!" was a playful phrase Ed chimed out in my Math and Physics class at Lewis University. His wit, charm, brilliance, warm smile, and unwavering passion for aviation has had a profound affect on us all. It was a privilege to learn in your class. Wherever we go, we won't forget.

Clear skies and tailwinds, Ed. Gonna miss your warmth and ingenious soul.

We all admired Ed Meyer. He was one of the most influential men I have ever met. He truly left an indelible mark on anyone who was lucky enough to have known him. We love you Ed. Thank you for playing Cupid for my husband and I.

Ed was one of the kindest souls I have ever met. He always had a smile for you and would give you an instrument out of his airplane if you were in need. His happiness will be missed.

Smart, but a down to earth gentleman. He was my Electricity 2 instructor at Lewis. A very down to earth way to teach. Ed's approach allowed me to understand aircraft electricity, and because of his level of instruction I was able to be an Avionics Technician at the FedEx aircraft maintenance facility in Memphis. He will be sorely missed. Clear skies for your trip West.

When I think of Ed, I think of his intelligence, his vast knowledge and experience and his willingness to share it, his quiet humility and kindness, his enduring smile, and the ever-present twinkle in his eye. He will be sorely missed.

Ed was one of the kindest men I ever met. He was respected by all who met him. He always had a kind for if you were having a bad day. I will never forget his kindness to me and I will remember him on his scooter. God bless his memory. SEMPER FI MARINE

My sincere condolences. I shared a lot of lunches with Ed at Lewis over the years. He was such and interesting man who could speak about any number of topics. Truly, a life well lived.

Ed, you will be greatly missed. I wish we had the opportunity to spend more time together working on planes and talking about hot rods. I'm sure John Nowicki and I will be talking about you for years to come. You were so humble that I never became aware of your vast accomplishments, like a doctorate in electrical engineering! To your family, I don´t know what to say. I do hope that time will quickly soften your sorrow and leave you only with cherished memories. With deepest sympathy, Martin

Fly High Ed! Whether thats in a DC3 or in our hearts. I will always remember you as an Aviator who had the knowledge, experience, and love, who shared the passion of Aviation like no other. I hope you are flying your Piper Apache or working on your Ercoupe with all your tools. You were a great influence on myself and my Dad. We looked up to your drive of waking up everyday to inspire and teach the next generation and living everyday like it is your last. You were the only person who knew that airplane or that manual or that technique. We lost a true legend in Aviation history. I am so appreciative of having you as my teacher, and as an old friend. Thanks for leaving an impact on my heart like you did to so many others.
Best wishes from myself Dennis, Dennis Sr, and the Radwanski Family.
