I almost never go to MassLive let alone read obituaries. But my sisters just texted me that one of our neighbors that we grew up with on our street passed away. Coincidentally, his last name began with "M".
So, I'm scrolling through names and I see your dad! I am so sorry. Had I known, I would have paid me respects in person.
I don't have to tell you what a great guy he was. As a young new teacher at HHS, Eddie was my department chair. He took me under his wing. He was kind and caring. I have had and always will have the utmost respect for him.
Since his retirement, I will particularly miss seeing Eddie every week at Stop and Shop where I would shout "Hi Eddie" when he'd walk by me at the deli counter.
Eddie Murphy was such a sincere, genuine man. I am really gong to miss him.

Wish I could be there to express my condolences. So many fond memories growing up with my cousins down the street. Your dad was a kind, soft spoken and wonderful man.

We were very sorry to hear about uncle Ed. We have some great memories to hold onto though, and we know that he has been greeted already by all of the other Mackey family members that have gone before him. God bless, Kirk and Lise Mackey and family, and Carol Mackey.

My condolences on Ed's passing. He was my Account Office Procedures teacher at HHS in '85. I would see him throughout the years at the Holyoke Blue Sox games and catch up. Great teacher. Great man. God Bless.
