Edward Hamilton Norman, 85, of White House, TN passed away on March 7, 2025 after extended illness. Ed left this world peacefully, holding the hand of his wife and best friend of 63 years. He was born on September 23, 1939.
Raised in Abbeyville, AL, Ed was a fierce lover of country, having proudly spent 23 years leading teams in the Navy and Air Force. After his time in the military, he retired near his children to work for the City of White House. He was a loving husband, father, and passionate family-man, always looking for ways to support his children.
Ed also enjoyed a peaceful retreat in nature, whether that meant fishing with a friend, painting a beautiful landscape, or simply watching saw mill scenery on tv.
In his last years, Ed experienced both days of adversity and abundance, but we rejoice now knowing that for him, "every sad thing has been made untrue" in the presence of his Savior.
Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Muse Norman, grandchildren Colby Woodis (Paige) of Arlington, VA, Gracie Baids (Brian) of Nashville, TN, Hollie Tyler (JD) of Birmingham, Alabama, great-grandchildren Jackson Howard and Bennett Norman Baids, niece and nephews, and loyal dog, Buster. He is preceded in death by his children Scott Norman and Kristi Lynn Woodis and grandchildren Hunter and Emily Norman.
Ed's life will be remembered by friends and family at Goodlettsville Church on Friday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. with burial immediately following at White House Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at White House Cole & Garrett and Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Goodlettsville Church.
His pallbearers will be Clint Thompson, Brian Baids, Lance Woodis, Brad Woodis, Charlie Ray Blankenship, and Thomas Robinson.
