Edward Orpurt Obituary

Edward M. Orpurt, 101, of Peru passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Peru, Indiana.

He was born on March 27, 1920 in Peru, Indiana to William Clarence and Glee (Nicodemous) Orpurt. He married Ella Louise (Richeson) Orpurt on November 1, 1946 and she survives. Edward was retired from United Technologies as a parts inspector. He was a lifetime member of the Peru Church of the Brethren where he served in many different capacities throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Orpurt and their children Ella Marie Orpurt of San Antonio, Texas, Kenneth Edward (Katharine) Orpurt of Peru, Indiana, Roger Allen Orpurt of Macy, Indiana, Annis (Jerry) DeKeyser of Rochester, Indiana, and Albert Glen (Sharlene) Orpurt of Peru, Indiana in addition to 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Dr. Phil Orpurt of North Manchester, Indiana.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents and brothers William Orpurt and Kenneth Orpurt.

Visitation will be held from 10-11am on Monday, Nov. 1, 2021 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 11am with Pastor Phillip Troxell officiating. Burial will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 at 11am.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Peru Church of the Brethren.
