Edward Jacob Pasierb “JaJa”, 82, of Marche, Arkansas went to his Heavenly home surrounded by his loved ones on March 1, 2024. He was born October 19, 1941 in Granite City, IL. He was the first son of Jack and Frances Banaszak Pasierb.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a graduate of Catholic High, class of 1959 and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for 50 years. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and a weatherman for the National Weather Service for over 60 years. He loved his career so much that when he retired, he continued to measure snow for the NWS and gave daily reports for Marche, AR.
Throughout his lifetime, he was known for his sense of love, compassion, and giving for others. He was always ready for an opportunity to give blood and had been giving blood since 1973. He was an avid gardener and would share his vegetables with everyone. He spent over 20 years volunteering at Hope Ministry and feeding those in need and the homeless. He spent many Sunday afternoons taking Communion and visiting with residents at nursing homes and others that were unable to make it to Mass.
He is preceded in death by his son Louis Andrew and parents Jack and Frances Pasierb. Ed is survived by his wife of 56 years Marcella Helen Ungerank Pasierb, his “God Sent.” He is survived by his two brothers Joe (Debbie) and Richard (Pam). He is also survived by five children; Jeff (Susan), Steve, John (Stacey), Ann, and Susan (Vincent) and 11 grandchildren that were his pride and joy: Abby (Justise), Emma, Olivia, Jack, Anna Kate, Ryan, Lizzy, Noah, Baylee, Charlee, and Landry. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and many friends.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Brent Hill, Coach Chris Kordsmeier, Lann Smith, Mike Sagar, Charles Elrod, Jr., Martin Matute, Chuck Rickert and Jack Bingenheimer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary School, 7025 Jasna Gora, NLR, AR 72118, 501-851-2760.
