Edward Polglaze Obituary

Edward Louis Polglaze, born to Harriet and Edward Polglaze on June 26, 1941, died on October 10, 2025, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with his daughter by his side. Edward Polglaze married his high school sweetheart on September 24, 1960, they were married until her death on April 30, 2023. Marilyn and Ed moved to Minot, North Dakota, where he served in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1966. They returned to Beloit, and he was employed at Freeman Shoes before becoming a Beloit Police Officer. He served as a Police Officer from 1971-1993. Ed was an outstanding athlete in his younger years, loved fishing, golfing with his family, and was a friend to many. Ed is survived by his children, Susan and Scott Benarcik (Pam, Bob, Jared, Lori), Pam and Barb Polglaze (Susan, Aria), John Polglaze (Johnny and Nathan), Robert Polglaze (Bob and Megan); brother, Herman (Toni) Polglaze; sister-in-law, Barb Polglaze; brother-in-law, John (Sue) Waxler; special friend, Lindsay Healless; along with nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ed will be joining his wife, parents, baby sister, Barbara, and brothers, Jerry and Bob, in heaven. A Graveside Service for Ed will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025 in East Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by VFW #2306. Ed was a lover of all animals. Memorial may be directed to the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin, 4700 South County Road G, Janesville, Wisconsin 53546.
