Edward David Pope

Edward David Pope, 72, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on January 16, 2026.

Edward was born on November 15, 1953, in Levelland, Texas, to Jesse Rayford and Bertie Joyce Pope. From an early age, Edward was known for his good heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering kindness. He was a man who truly loved people and lived that love out daily, always willing to help, always offering a smile, and known for giving the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Edward was loved by everyone who knew him. He was genuinely good-hearted, endlessly kind, and a wonderful presence in the lives of his family, friends, and community. His warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on all who were blessed to cross his path.

He is survived by his devoted spouse and soulmate of forty-seven years, Vicky Lynn Pope of Midland, Texas; his children, Tiffany Pope, Bryan Ledlow, and Andy Pope; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all of whom were a tremendous source of pride and joy in his life.

Edward was preceded in death by his beloved children, Cana Lee Pope, Dany Lynn Pope, and Ryan Garrett Pope, as well as his parents, Jesse Rayford and Bertie Joyce Pope.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Immanuel Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas, with Landon Coleman officiating.

Edward's legacy of kindness, compassion, and selfless love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
