Edward Bruce Purdom

Edward Bruce Purdom, 76, husband for Fifty Four Years to Gloria Jean Rogers Purdom, died Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born December 7, 1946 in Bradfordsville, he was the son of the late Howard Bruce and Verna Lee Gribbins Purdom. He retired as a truck driver after having worked over thirty years for various companies such as Florida Tile, Bay West, and Purdom Trucking.
He was a Baptist by faith, was an avid fisherman lovingly known to many as "Kingfish", enjoyed gardening, and also watching NASCAR.
Survivors besides his wife include one son Bruce (Robin) Purdom of Mercer County; two daughters: Carla Purdom of Lawrenceburg and Sue Ann (Christopher) Robinson of Harrodsburg; one brother Roger (Lynn) Purdom of Bradfordsville; four sisters: Donna (Sam) Smothers, Aline Wicker, Bonnie (Paul) Smothers, and Gloria Masterson all of Lebanon; six grandchildren: Elizabeth Clark, Cody Robinson, Cameron Purdom, Caleb Purdom, Katelyn Robinson, and Chloe Kirkpatrick; two great grandchildren: Aaliyah Williamson and Kay'den Corbett; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Elizabeth Daugherty and Dorothy Jean Purdom.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
