Edward H. Rowen Sr.

Edward H. Rowen, Sr passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband, father, and Pop Pop, Ed is survived by his wife Mary (Hackett), sons and daughter-in-laws Edward (Monique) and James (Patricia), and grandchildren Gabrielle, Samantha and Matthew as well as his adopted family, Steven, Jennifer, Abbie and Hannah. Ed was one of nine children of William Rowen and Lillian (McCloskey) growing up in the Onley section of Philadelphia. He attended Onley High School. Upon graduating, he worked at various professions until he began work at the Philadelphia Gas Works as a draftsman. He worked there for 35 years until the age of 62 and continue to work as a consultant until he finally retired at the age of 82. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the America Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. Family and friends are invited to Ed's Life Celebration, Thursday, July 24th, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at John F. Givnish of Buckingham, 4886 York Road, and to participate in his Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
