Grant Heard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John F. Givnish Funeral Home - Buckingham on Mar. 13, 2026.
Jamison, PA - Grant Larson Heard, of Jamison, PA, passed away unexpectedly on March 3rd, 2026, at the age of 49. He was a dedicated family man whose life was defined by the love and care of his wife, Marina and devotion to his 10-year-old daughter, Eloise.

Born on February 27, 1977 in Oklahoma City, OK to Larry and Ann Heard, Grant spent most of his childhood in Muskogee, OK. He graduated from Muskogee High School (Class of 1995) and went on to graduate with a double major from Oklahoma State University with bachelor's degrees in History and Russian. In his endless pursuit of knowledge, he also obtained a Master's degrees from the University of Washington in International Studies and another Master's degree from Oklahoma University in Geology.

Grant met his wife, Marina, in Boston, where they married in 2013. Together, they built a warm, loving home for their daughter, Eloise, and their two dogs, Blue and Ralphie. Grant was the ultimate father, truly at his happiest when spending time with his family. Whether he was taking Eloise (affectionately known as Lulu) to gymnastics, helping with homework, or exploring new places on trips, she was the center of his universe.

A lifelong seeker of knowledge, Grant approached the world with an insatiable curiosity, the exact reason everyone wanted him on their Trivial Pursuit team. Whether he was mastering sourdough or engaging in spirited debate, he brought a quirky humor and passion to everything he touched. Above all, Grant was a gentle pillar of strength, selflessly devoted to his family and always the first to help a friend in need.

Grant is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Marina Shtern; his daughter, Eloise; his mother, Ann Heard; his brother, Shepley Heard; and his sister, Haley Heard Maitre. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Grant Heard.

While flowers are appreciated, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Grant's memory to The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health. (see link below)

Family and friends are invited to Grant's Life Celebration, Wednesday, March 18th, from 10am to 12 noon, at John F. Givnish of Buckingham, 4886 York Road, and to participate in his Funeral Service at 12 noon. Interment private.
