Edward Wayne Schroeder

Edward Wayne Schroeder, "Buddy", was born in Fort Belvoir, VA on November 1st,
1953, to the late Edgar William Schroeder and Jewell Lillian Schroeder. He passed away peacefully at age 70 on March 1st, 2024 in the Pensacola, FL area that he had called home since 1999.
Beloved husband of Donna, loving father to Holly (Derek), Kyle (Rebekah), and James (Sparrow), dear brother to Randall (Hae Jong), Beverly, and Keri (deceased), as well as a proud grandfather to Holly and Derek's children: Preston, Scarlett, and Sebastian; and James and
Sparrow's children: Louis and Odette. He led his family in living open handedly and extended their home beyond the immediate family, allowing the Schroeder household to be known as a second home to Cheree Melton and Chloe Barsanti, Brad Trombly, and Andrew Fisk.
He carried on the proud tradition of military service of both his father, and older brother. He served in the Army from 1976-1982, earning the rank of Captain and serving as a tank platoon leader. His career post-military ranged from building homes in Houston and Atlanta, to the tourism industry in Macon, GA, Jekyll Island, GA, Pensacola, FL, and Fort Walton
Beach/Destin, FL. He also worked briefly with Marcus Pointe Golf Course in Pensacola, then retired from the career field as a furniture repair franchise owner with Weathersby Guild.
He was a devoted Christian who led his family to follow and serve Christ, through loving God and loving others - his generosity and care for others has inspired many and was a pillar of his faith. His family has attended Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola since moving to the area in
January 2000.
On the perfect day, Buddy would be relaxing poolside surrounded by friends and family for a BBQ after spending a sunny day at the beach. His memory will be carried on through the countless people that knew and loved him.
A visitation for Edward will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services immediately following at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, FL 32503. The committal service will occur Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Pensacola, FL 32507.
