Edward Gene Showalter

Edward Gene Showalter, born on February 2, 1960, on Groundhog Day, passed away on February 9, 2026. A proud graduate of Aloha High School, Class of 1978, Ed carried with him the friendships and memories of his school years throughout his life.

Ed was born to Betty and John Showalter and was raised in a close-knit family that meant everything to him. He is survived by his brother Steve and sister Deann, and was preceded in death by his brother John.

Ed was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews - Katie, Kellie, Johnny, James, and Nick - and he absolutely adored his many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and making them laugh.

He had a true passion for golf and loved everything about the game. Whether watching tournaments or talking about his latest round, golf was one of his greatest joys. He also enjoyed watching game shows, thrift shopping for hidden treasures, and telling a good joke - something he was especially good at. Ed had a natural gift for humor and loved making people smile.

Ed began his career at GTE, where he worked diligently for many years, continuing his service for 30 years as the company transitioned into Verizon. He took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.

Ed will be remembered for his quick wit, kind heart, love of family, and the laughter he brought into every room. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
