Edward "Eddie" Skorupski

Mr. Edward "Eddie" Skorupski, age 77, of Spring Lake, MI and formerly of Gaylord, MI passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, surrounded by his family. Eddie was born on March 25, 1948, in Hamtramck, MI to Stanley and Mary (Tchorzewski) Skorupski. On September 2nd, 1972, Eddie and Cindy were married at Saint Mathias Church in Sterling Heights, MI. Eddie proudly served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Gaylord Community Schools. Eddie always enjoyed working with his hands. He loved woodworking and creating things. He especially enjoyed helping both his sons with any type of home improvements as well as his own. Some of his favorite recreations were playing cards, playing pool, watching TV and taking long rides on his motorcycle. He also loved taking care of his Ford truck! Eddie was attending The Little Red House in Spring Lake, MI. He looked forward to being with his friends and participating in all their fun activities. The most important part of Eddies life was the role he played as a dad and grandpa. He loved both of his sons and grandchildren immensely. He was such a proud dad and just a wonderful grandpa, always willing to lend a hand and an ear whenever they needed him. His family was his life blessing, and his puppy Abby was truly his best buddy! Eddie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cindy; his two sons, Rick (Lisa) Skorupski, and Ronnie Skorupski, eight grandchildren: Shane, Tyler (Kaylee), Dylan (Ashley), Emily (Tyler), Jaden. Eddie also had four great grandchildren: Owen Michael, Bear, Emersyn, and Avaya. He also had Makayla, Lexi and Isaac who know him as a loving grandfather; sister-in-law, Sandy Enos; brother-in-law, Lou (Renee) Calabris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mary Skorupski; sisters, Jessica Sabato, and Diane Christian. A visitation will be held 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Friday, October 3, 2025, at The Spring Lake Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 213 E. Savidge St, Spring Lake, MI 49456. A graveside service with military honors will be held 2:30 Friday afternoon at Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Ed may be given to The Little Red House.
