NORTH JACKSON - Edward John Stein, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at the age of 87.
Born on October 27, 1938, in Youngstown, the son of late Virgil and Mildred (Cukec) Stein. Ed lived a life filled with love, hard work, and a deep sense of purpose.
Ed was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After his service, he took up the trade of tool making, dedicating over three decades of his life to the automobile manufacturing industry at the General Motors Lordstown Plant.
Ed's life was one of simplicity and fulfillment. A life filled with laughter, the love of family, and afternoon projects tinkering in the garage. Whether sharing stories of his Marine Corps days or lending a hand to his neighbors, Ed's easygoing demeanor and genuine nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his successful career, Ed cherished his family above all. He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Stein, whom he married on May 4, 1963; his daughter, Cheryl (Bob) Evans and son, Edward (Carolyn) Stein Jr., both of Austintown,
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mildred Stein.
A private celebration of Ed's life was held, where family gathered to honor him and share cherished memories.
