Edward "Eddie" Thomason, 67, passed away on Thursday, February 26,2026 in Abilene, Texas.
He was born in Abilene, TX on October 10, 1958, to his father Pastel Delano Thomason and his mother Artia Frances Staggs. Edward, a proud graduate of Cooper High School, transitioned from this life leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and unwavering faith. He started working at 14 delivering ice. A cornerstone of the local workforce, Edward dedicated 26 years of service to Coca-Cola. His career was defined by a relentless work ethic; he mastered every facet of the business. He was a man who truly understood the value of a job well done.
Beyond his professional life, Edward's heart belonged to his family and his Creator. He was a devoted husband and a steadfast father, providing a "steady presence" that served as an anchor for those he loved. His spiritual home was found at Refiner's Fire Ministries and Abundant Life Apostolic Ministries. A man of deep, resolute faith, Edward's life was a living testament to his love for the house of God. Whether through his constant prayers or his eager willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, he embodied the spirit of service.
Edward is survived by his wife, Lachristia Thomason; his mother, Frances Thomason; his daughter, Jenger and husband Niels Weiser; his daughter, RaGenna Skiles; his son, Justin Leverett and wife Amanda Dawn Leverett; his daughter RaChele Sanders and husband Jonathan Mendez; his son, Ethan Thomason; his granddaughter, Erynn Nickell; his granddaughter, Micah Nickell; his grandson, Colton Skiles; his grandson, William Leverett; his granddaughter, Haven Leverett; his grandson, Alex Duran (Thalia); his grandson, Javier Duran; his grandson, Noah Duran; his granddaughter, BreAnna Martinez; his great grandson, Colson Duran; his great grandson on the way, Zekiel Duran; his brothers, James Thomason, Ronnie Thomason, and Steven Thomason; his sister, Alfie Rapson and husband Rick; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Pastel Delano Thomason; his grandfather, Brenston Staggs; his grandmother, Martha Downy; his father-in- law, Gene Havens; his mother-in-law, Pearl Pricer.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 4, 2026, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Tx. A funeral service will be held on Thursday March 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene, TX. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX.
