Edward Torba Obituary

Edward S. Torba, of East Syracuse, NY, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side. Ed was born in Oswego, NY and was a longtime resident of the Fayetteville-Manlius area. He earned his teaching degree from SUNY Oswego and went on to receive master's degrees from Syracuse University and the University of Pennsylvania. A dedicated educator, he began his career at Manlius Military Academy and spent most of his professional life teaching at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, where he was admired for his impact on generations of students.
Ed was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. He cherished the outdoors, but above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, laughing and sharing stories.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Sarah, "Sal"; and leaves behind his five children, and twelve grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Ed's many years as an educator, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Elementary School, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville, NY 13066
