Edward S. Vannieuwenhoven ObituaryFlorence- Edward S. Vannieuwenhoven, 97, of Florence, Wisc., passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his home.
He was born April 6, 1928, in Green Bay, Wisc., son of the late Edward and Gladys (Brunette) Vannieuwenhoven. Edward grew up and attended school in Green Bay. He worked in sheet metal for the union. On December 31, 1947, Edward was united in marriage to Dolores Bonville. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2022.
Edward was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Florence, the Golden Eagle Archery Club, the Suamico River Runners Snowmobile Club, and the P and M Camping Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Edward also enjoyed watching college football, especially the University of Wisconsin Badgers. Lastly Edward enjoyed surf fishing in Port Isabel, Texas where he and Dolores were snowbirds for over 15 years.
Survivors include his children; Mary Wagner, Green Bay, WI, Elizabeth Fotopoulos, Sobieski, WI, Terry (Jim) Weihbrecht, Florence, WI, Bob (Cindy) Vannieuwenhoven, Armstrong Creek, WI, and Wendy (John) Burbey, Suamico, WI; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Neil (June) Vannieuwenhoven, Suamico, WI; and one sister, Donna Mae Ashley, Ontonagon, MI.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dolores, Edward was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and Larry Vannieuwenhoven, and one sister, Luella Vandenheuvel.
In accordance with Edward's wishes, private family services will be held.
