Wichita, Kansas - Edward J. Voss, beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed into eternal rest at 6:45 am on January 15, 2026. Ed was born March 15, 1943, to Raymond and Lorraine Voss in Hospers, IA. After growing up as the oldest son on a farm near Sibley, IA, he attended Iowa State where he earned bachelor degrees in civil and architectural engineering. He was then commissioned as an officer in the Construction Battalion (Seabee) in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. While stationed in Newport, RI, Lieutenant Junior Grade Edward Voss met Claire Larabee. They married on October 2, 1971. Ed is preceded in eternal rest by his parents, Raymond and Lorraine Voss, his step-mother, Madge Voss, Claire Voss, his beloved wife of 50 years, and his 2 brothers-in-law, Denny Rose and Raymond Larabee. He is survived by his sons Joseph, married to Heather (Farrand), Daniel, married to Cathy (Montbriand), and Fr. David. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kylie, Avery, Zoey, Chloe, Abigail, Max, and MacKenzie. The visitation and rosary will be Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 7 pm at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Wichita, KS, and the funeral will be Monday, January 19, 2026, at 11 am also at St. Patrick's.
