Rev. Edward Wilbourn, 84, of Russellville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Born Dec. 15, 1940, in Brownwood, Texas, he was the son of John and Birdie May Pearce Wilbourn. On March 31, 1960, he married the love of his life, Catherine "Cathy" Taylor, in Post, Texas. Together, they faithfully served the Lord for over six decades.
A devoted servant of Christ, Rev. Wilbourn dedicated his life to ministry as the founding pastor of Harvest Time Pentecostal Church of God. He was a respected leader in the faith community, serving as a presbyter in Section 11 of the PCG and as a member of Gateway Pentecostal Church of God. His life was a testimony to God's grace and faithfulness.
He was known for his love for the Word, his unwavering faith, and his deep compassion for people. His legacy is one of devotion – to God, to his family, and to the countless souls he shepherded throughout his ministry. He was a cherished husband, father, Papa, and friend. Outside of ministry, he found joy in RVing, carpentry, woodworking, fishing, and hunting, always marveling at God's creation.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings, and a granddaughter, Acadia Mason, and is now reunited with them in the presence of his Savior.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cathy Wilbourn of Russellville; daughters, Pam Turner and husband Joe, and Jennifer Walker and husband Edwin, all of Russellville; son, Jimmy Wilbourn and wife Cathy of Russellville; brother, Merle Wilbourn; sisters, Lola Dale, Annie May Wilbourn, and Dorothy Pierce; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A celebration of his life and ministry will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, at Gateway Pentecostal Church of God, with Rev. Larry Miller and Rev. Jerry Vinson officiating. He will be laid to rest at Center Valley Memorial Gardens in Russellville under the care of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Online condolences and the obituary are available at www. humphreyfuneral.com.
