Edward "Eddie" Joseph Ziranski, 71, of
Damascus, Maryland, died on December 30, 2025, at Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown, Maryland, after a hard-fought battle with illness.
Eddie was born on December 21, 1954, in
Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Mildred Griffith and Edward Ziranski.
He retired from the F.O. Day Company after more than 40 years of dedicated service. Eddie spent many years proudly driving a dump truck under the handle "Green Eggs and Ham" before being promoted to Truck Foreman. Many local roadways throughout the area were paved through his hard work, leadership, and supervision.
Eddie loved spending time with his family, especially over a good meal or a bushel of steamed crabs. He eagerly looked forward to snow days and holidays, particularly Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve, when the main event was always the feast.
On sunny summer days, he could often be found relaxing in his pool, speakers turned up, enjoying his favorite classic rock music.
He will always be remembered for his sense of humor. Eddie had a gift for making people laugh and was always telling jokes, even until the very end.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce Ziranski; his two daughters, Tanya(Randy) Wright and Lindsey Ziranski; and his granddaughter, Taylor Wright. He is also survived by his siblings, Cindy Griffith and her husband, Kevin Bode, and James Griffith.
He was preceded in death by his siblings John Vanscoy, Carol Ditman, who is survived by her husband, Wayne Ditman, and William Ziranski, who is survived by his wife, Rachel Ziranski.
He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
We take comfort in knowing that Eddie is now healed, at peace, and with God. His faith carried him through his suffering, and it is the promise of eternity with Christ that carries us now.
The family will receive visitors on January 7th, 2026, for a viewing at 11:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m., at Going Home Crematorium and Funeral Home, 519 Mabe Dr.,
Woodbine, MD 21797.
