Benjamin Eldred, 89, of Damascus, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
He is survived by his two sons, David and Wayne Eldred; his granddaughter, Melanie; and eight other grandchildren. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Haillie and Jordan, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Ben had a deep love for his late dogs, Doc and Doogy, who brought him years of companionship and comfort.
Throughout his life, Ben dedicated himself to caring for his family and providing for those he loved. He spent many of his years building homes, not just as a profession, but as a reflection of who he was.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and cared for.
Ben was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Elaine, who passed away in 2007.
A visitation with a memorial service will be held on Saturday February 7, 2026, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Animal Welfare Society of Monroe (AWSOM) animal shelter, PO Box 13, Stroudsburg PA 18360
